Facts

The debut release for BRÜDER is relentless while still being warm. It is a driving, hypnotic offering of songs that plants itself somewhere around the genres of stoner rock, sludge metal, and hardcore music.

The EP was recorded at Million Yen Studios in Chicago, which was fitting since this is where lead singer Ryan Harding (Buildings, Ghost Towns of the West) spent a two-year stint focused squarely on writing and performing music. The city, and his experiences during that period, was the inspiration for the majority of the tunes on the record. In addition, the band cites the Melvins, Kyuss, Barkmarket, and Black Sabbath as influences.

While Harding provided the seeds for the songs initially, the writing process was organic with all members contributing to the process. Bassist Tucker Jensen provides lead vocals for “Earthen,” while drummer Tom Busch’s (Chiefs of the North) heart-thumping rhythms and guitarist Mike Mastel’s searing arpeggios are heard throughout.
