We’re retiring Habit :(
So long you little weirdo.
We’ve discontinued plenty of pedals over the years – it has to happen eventually – but I wanted to do something a little special for this one.
We’re saying goodbye to Habit, our strangest creation.
I want to talk about it a bit, but the headline first:
All remaining stock is 20% off, including the limited Shareware Edition you see below. We have 500 of the Shareware Edition and just under 100 of the original artwork.
In just about every way, Habit is the most extreme pedal we’ve ever made.
We try to challenge ourselves to go a little further with each release, but even four years later Habit is different. The design process was reckless, we had no idea where the limits were and we bonked right into them. I don’t think we can or would make something in that way again.
It’s a delay of course, but it’s also all those other things you’ve probably heard us talk about by now. You can record songs on it, you can manually scan through its 3-minute memory, you can feed that memory back into itself – the kind of stuff that only makes sense once you can try it for yourself. It’s the pedal that has the most secrets and surprises. If someone tells me it’s their favorite Chase Bliss pedal – I know we’ll really get along.
The artwork of the original set the right tone for the Habit experience, but it’s also the busiest design we’ve ever done. I always planned to do a more minimal version at some point, so we’re doing it now. This is it.
Also, did you know we made a Habit board game? We did, we made a whole danged game with rules and everything. Up to this point it’s been a DIY project but we thought it would be nice to make it more accessible for this final chapter — so all Shareware Edition units will now ship with a foldout copy of the game board and official rulebook.

This pedal has always meant a lot to me. The success of Habit told me that you trust us, even when things get weird and may not make sense on the surface. It was a huge step, and it does feel a little sad to say goodbye. But it’s time.
